Netpal — Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Last updated: October 24, 2026

This page contains both the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use for Netpal (“Netpal”, the “App”). Netpal is an iOS app for keeping the people you meet at events: you can scan a business card or describe someone by voice, add notes, and send an intro email from your own mail account. An AI assistant, Pal, suggests who in your network can introduce you to someone. Netpal is operated by APPTOIC (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using Netpal, you agree to both documents below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

For any questions, contact us at hello@apptoic.com.

Part 1 — Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App uses, where it is kept, what is sent to which service, and the choices you have. We aim to comply with the GDPR (EU), KVKK (Türkiye), and Apple’s App Store requirements.

1. Information We Collect

a) Data on your device

  • The contacts you add, your notes, selfies, business-card images and events. They are stored only on your device.
  • Business-card images and selfies never leave your device.

b) Account (optional)

  • You can use Netpal without an account. An account is needed only for connect codes. You can sign in with Apple or Google; sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication.

c) Connect codes

  • When you show your QR code, a copy of your digital card — your name, title, company, and the email address, website and phone number you put on it — is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in Europe for up to 24 hours, so that the person who scans it can add you. The App deletes expired codes.

d) Usage events

  • Usage events stay on your device.

Netpal does not use third-party analytics or advertising, does not track you across apps, and does not sell your data.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To keep your network, notes and events on your device.
  • To read business cards and voice descriptions and fill in a contact’s details.
  • To answer your questions to Pal and to draft intro emails.
  • To let the person who scans your QR code add you.
  • To check app integrity and to load app settings.

3. AI Processing & Third-Party Service Providers

The AI features send only the data described here:

  • Business cards. The text on the card is recognised on your device with Apple’s Vision framework. The recognised text, with email addresses and phone numbers masked, is sent to Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic to extract the contact’s details. The card image stays on your device.
  • Voice. When you describe someone by voice, your speech is transcribed by Apple’s speech recognition — on your device when possible; otherwise Apple’s server-based speech recognition may be used. Netpal does not store the audio. The transcript, limited to the people you mention, is sent to Gemini to extract their details.
  • Pal. When you ask Pal something, your question and a reduced summary of your network — names, titles, companies, communities and notes; no phone numbers or email addresses — are sent to Gemini to answer it.
  • Intro emails. Drafts may be written by Apple’s on-device model where it is available.

The services the App uses:

  • Google Firebase (AI Logic with Gemini, Authentication, Firestore, App Check, Remote Config) — AI features, sign-in, connect codes, app integrity and app settings.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, text recognition, speech recognition, the on-device model, and App Attest.
  • Google — Sign in with Google.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Email

Intro emails are sent by you, from your own mail app and account. Netpal does not send email on its own.

5. App Integrity & Settings

Netpal uses Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest to check that requests come from the genuine App, and Firebase Remote Config for app settings, such as which AI model to use.

6. Permissions

Netpal asks only for these permissions:

  • Camera — to scan business cards and QR codes, and to take a selfie.
  • Microphone and Speech Recognition — to describe someone by voice.
  • Local Network — to find nearby Netpal users to exchange cards (“Nearby”). While Nearby is open, your name and connect code are visible to Netpal users near you.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Data on your device: removed when you delete the App.
  • Connect codes: stored for up to 24 hours; the App deletes expired codes.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account in the App: Sen › Hesap (You › Account). This deletes your connect codes and your account, and revokes the App’s Sign in with Apple connection. Data on your device is removed when you delete the App.

8. Data Storage

Your contacts, notes, selfies, business-card images and events are stored only on your device. Connect codes are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in Europe. The text sent to Gemini is processed by Google through Firebase AI Logic, and speech may be processed by Apple when it cannot be recognised on your device.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location (GDPR/KVKK), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Most of your data is only on your device, and you can delete your account in the App. For anything else, contact hello@apptoic.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children

Netpal is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notifying you in the App.

Part 2 — Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Netpal. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) and able to form a binding contract to use Netpal.

2. Description of Service

Netpal is an iOS app for keeping the people you meet at events: scanning business cards, describing people by voice, adding notes, exchanging digital cards, sending intro emails from your own mail account, and asking the AI assistant Pal who in your network can introduce you to someone. Netpal currently has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Netpal for your personal, lawful use, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or exploit the App except as permitted by law.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Netpal to:

  • Violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
  • Impersonate any person, or put someone else’s details on your digital card.
  • Send emails that are illegal, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or that infringe others’ rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user’s account.
  • Disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or scrape the App or its systems.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your Content & Responsibility

  • You retain ownership of the content you add to the App, such as your notes.
  • You are solely responsible for the contact details of other people that you add to the App, and for having a lawful reason to store them.
  • You are solely responsible for the emails you send. Intro emails are sent from your own mail app and account, and only when you send them.

6. Nature of AI Output

Pal’s suggestions, the details read from business cards and voice descriptions, and intro-email drafts are produced by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They do not constitute medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. You are responsible for checking them before relying on them or sending an email.

7. Nearby and Connect Codes

When you show your QR code or open Nearby, you share your digital card with the people you choose to exchange cards with. While Nearby is open, your name and connect code are visible to Netpal users near you. What another person does with the details you share with them is their responsibility.

8. Intellectual Property

Netpal, its software, design, branding, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

9. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services (Apple, Google/Firebase, Google Gemini). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using Netpal at any time and delete your account in the App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for legal or security reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of İstanbul, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
