Clonic — Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

This page contains both the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use for Clonic (“Clonic”, the “App”). Clonic is operated by APPTOIC (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using Clonic, you agree to both documents below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Part 1 — Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how we use it, and the rights you have. We aim to comply with the GDPR (EU), KVKK (Türkiye), and Apple’s App Store requirements.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account information

  • When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier.

b) Content you provide (“User Content”)

  • Text you enter for voice generation.
  • Audio you record or upload for voice cloning.
  • Audio/video/songs you upload for covers, music generation, or video dubbing/translation.
  • Media you generate within the App (voiceovers, covers, songs, dubbed videos).

c) Voice and audio data

  • Voice cloning requires processing audio samples that may identify a person’s voice. We treat voice data as sensitive information and process it only to deliver the feature you request. See Section 6.

d) Purchase and subscription data

  • Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status and transaction identifiers, but we never receive or store your payment card details.

e) Device and usage data

  • Device type, OS version, app version, language, crash logs, and basic usage events used to operate and improve the App.

f) Push notification token

  • A device token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can notify you when your generation is ready.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the App’s core features (text-to-speech, voice cloning, AI music, song covers, video dubbing/translation).
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions and credits.
  • To send you notifications about your generations and account.
  • To maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal Bases (GDPR / KVKK)

We process your data based on: performance of a contract (providing the App), your consent (voice cloning and notifications), our legitimate interests (security, improvement), and legal obligations.

4. AI Processing & Third-Party Service Providers

To generate content, we send the necessary input data to trusted processors:

  • fal.ai and Replicate — AI generation (speech, voice cloning, music, covers, dubbing).
  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions) — hosting, storage, and backend.
  • RevenueCat and Apple — subscription and payment management.

These providers process data only to perform services for us. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Your Content Is Not Used to Train AI Models

We do not use your User Content, voice samples, or generated outputs to train AI models, and we do not share them with other users. Your data is used solely to deliver the features you request.

6. Voice Cloning — Important Notice

Voice cloning processes audio that can identify a person. By using this feature you confirm that you are the owner of the voice, or that you have the explicit consent of the person whose voice you upload. You must not clone, imitate, or recreate any person’s voice without their permission. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • We retain your account data and content while your account is active.
  • You can delete individual creations in the App at any time.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting hello@apptoic.com; we will delete it within a reasonable period unless we must retain certain records by law.

8. Data Storage & International Transfers

Your data is stored on Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure and processed by the providers listed above, which may be located outside your country (including the United States and the EU). Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location (GDPR/KVKK), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact hello@apptoic.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children

Clonic is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, secure authentication) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notifying you in the App.

Part 2 — Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Clonic. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) and able to form a binding contract to use Clonic.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Clonic for your personal, lawful use, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or exploit the App except as permitted by law.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Clonic to:

  • Clone, imitate, or recreate any person’s voice without their explicit consent.
  • Create deepfakes, impersonate others, or mislead, defraud, or deceive anyone.
  • Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes others’ rights.
  • Violate any intellectual property, publicity, or privacy rights (including uploading copyrighted songs you do not have rights to).
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Your Content & Ownership

  • You retain ownership of the content you upload and, to the extent permitted, the content you generate.
  • You grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your content solely to operate the App and deliver the features you request.
  • You are solely responsible for the content you upload and generate and for ensuring you have all necessary rights and consents.

5. Subscriptions, Credits & Payments

  • Clonic offers subscriptions and one-time purchases (credits) sold through the Apple App Store.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings.
  • Credits are consumed by generation actions (e.g., voiceovers, covers, music, dubbing) at the rates shown in the App. Credits are non-refundable and have no monetary value outside the App.
  • Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies; we do not process refunds directly.
  • Prices and credit costs may change; changes apply to future purchases.

6. AI-Generated Output

AI output may be inaccurate, unexpected, or not suitable for every purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and for how you use generated content. We make no guarantee regarding the accuracy, quality, or fitness of any output.

7. Intellectual Property

Clonic, its software, design, branding, and content (excluding your User Content) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services (Apple, Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, fal.ai, Replicate). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using Clonic at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for legal or security reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of İstanbul, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
